Browser compatibility.

To ensure that the site will display in as many browsers as possible, all pages use W3c Transitional XHTML and W3c CSS. The code is designed to allow any standard browser to display any page.

To ensure fast download and viewing, every effort is made to keep the size of each page and related graphics to a minimum.
A recent test on the development server showed the average page to be less than 27Kb in total.

The use of Jscript is kept to a minimum, but some pages may require scripting to carry out the functions of those pages. Wherever possible, server side programming is used for special functions but, as this requires re-loading of the page from the server, some functions are better run in the browser.
Where browser scripting is used, efforts are made to ensure that the scripts are recognized by as many browsers as possible and that alternative, non-script, pages are provided where possible.

While I would like to say that the site is compatible with all browsers, there is a limit to how many I can realistically test the site with. It is hoped that, being compatible with so many browsers (including a very basic browser), most others should have no problem.

It should be noted that, although the site is designed to be displayed in any Web browser, those which do not support standard CSS (such as OB1) will not display all the fonts, colors, borders and backgrounds.
